This ‘62 has been in the family since new, but recently was adopted by me. I’m not sure that is a good thing….it needs much. Roughly 12k miles and until the last 10 years was always stored inside; the harsh Montana sun did not help it. 261 with no compression on 3. Valve perhaps? 4 speed (no 2 sp axle), hoist, grain sides (which will come off for stakesides no doubt, this thing will not be doing farm work any longer) Going to drag it to the shop and come up with a plan. Has anyone put newer front suspension on one of these? (It has ball bearings and awful brakes). I did do a ‘86 front crossmember to a ‘64 c10 and it was super easy….and worth it. Anyway, plans to come to bring this c40 back to life!!

Glad to have you here Alan. Project Journal isn't usually the first spot to "check in" ... to let us know you are here.

No problem. I'm gonna move you over to the Welcome Center. That's a good place to tell a little bit about yourself and your ride(s). Looks like you've got your *ride* covered. Looks like a great project. Excited to hear that you hope to bring the '62 back to life.

If you have some questions as you go along, most truck-related questions are generally covered in THE SHOPS area.

Another good one is the 1960-66 area in the Parking Lot.

And yet another good one is the Big Bolts forum, also in the Parking Lot.

I see you have the picture posting down. thumbs_up It's always a treat to have images.

So post a few greetings in a few spots and before you know it, you'll be over the five posts needed to give you all the privileges of Stovebolt.

Looking forward to hearing more.

And Welcome.

Welcome Alan wave

Glad to see another family owned truck staying in the family and heading for some rejuvenating. thumbs_up

It looks like you have a very good starting point IMHO and look forward to seeing you future posts and questions so we can try and help you out getting it back on the road. shake

Hello Alan,

Good looking C40. Nice shot of the interior. It's easy to tell that it has low miles. Good job keeping it in the family. thumbs_up

Welcome

John

Welcome to the 'bolt. The big boys will like looking at that, as will the rest of us.

Another quality post.
