When I disassembled my '51 3600 two years ago I didn't think to take note of how the front bumper brackets were oriented. Now that I'm fitting the front end sheet metal and grill I'm pretty sure I put the brackets on upside down. So the question is, are the brackets supposed to curve up or down? The drawing in the FAM appears to show them curving down. I've spent quite a bit of time looking through other folks' Project Journals for photos, watched YouTube vids, and various web sites. I can't find a image that confirms what I suspect. Many thanks in advance for your help!

Here's some pictures that might help 1. Disassembled right after removing bolts - it's upside down to show what it would look like from under the truck looking up. 2 Then pre-assembly , and pic under the drivers side..... of my 1954 3604 . Hope this helps. If needed, PM me.

Fox , same as ? The 3100 ? The 1947 - 1955 FAM indicates that the same part number brackets are used on Models 3100 , 3600, and 3800. Section 14 , sheet 1 .

Thank you all for the input and the photos. As I suspected, I have them on wrong. They are currently curving up so they are hard up against the pan under the grill. That just didn't seem right to me.

Yes, I was asking if the 3100 was the same as a 3600. They are based on the FAM. As for the 1 ton, mine has a different setup. My 1 ton doesn’t have those brackets at all. It has little stubby ones much closer to the frame horns. Granted, mine is a Canadian truck, but I couldn’t see that being much difference. Any other one tonners have similar mounts that are different compared to the 1/2 and 3/4 tons?
