Thought y’all would like knowing a 1966 C-60 (292, SM420) made a 1,000 mile trip over Thanksgiving towing a car trailer without issue. Drove from Fredericksburg, VA to Nashville, Tenn. taking all back roads/state routes because the truck has very low gears (7.20:1). Top speed for the truck is 45 mph but stayed around 35 mph to keep the Engine RPM under 3,000. Links to photos of the “rig”.

I cringe to think of the visa bill for gas.

Pat, this isn’t that 292 or the truck I’ve been working on. This truck came along unexpectedly and was only acquired for the 22.5” wheels but turned out to be a decent truck mechanically. Hopefully you will see the 292 from the cut up truck at an event in 2023. Here is a link to the 292 from the cut up truck running.

As far as the fuel bill, it was $439.21. Got about 7.9 mpg average overall trip. The truck actually road good with the 255/80/22.5 radials.

Thanks,
Keith
