Did a trip to the landfill & got 3 thumbs up 👍 along the way & a wave from my neighbor. 20 mile round-trip. Took picture at 55, still need to fix my speedometer (snaps cables) I'm getting more comfortable driving it at high speeds (55-60) too. Love my new 3.38 gears

That's funny. It looks like you're standing still!
I never owned a modern car so driving a 72 year old truck at 55 or 60 just seems normal to me. It's when I get behind the wheel of a rental car that I nearly put it into the ditch when pulling out of the lot. These new-fangled cars sure are sensitive!
60 is about top speed with the 4.11:1 rear end.

51 3100 drove my 6yr old daughter to Costco. That was a mistake. No, not driving the truck mind you. Going to Costco the weekend before Thanksgiving week. It was crazy. Parked in the far corner. Weren't to many spaces available anyway. Heater worked well.

Yesterday was breakfast in town with the coffee shop car/truck group. Usually about 8 of us. One has a super nice 1971 Nova street rod and another has a 1969 C-10 nice survivor along with a 1964 Corvair convertible. We took the 1962 C-10 street rod. Misty, foggy and cloudy day so lights and wipers were exercised for sure. Good test for the new digital water temp and volt meter. Never got over 180* and a nice steady 13.4 volts.

Another breakfast trip into town. Due to the holidays the usual crowd was a bit slimmer. The ‘62 C-10 ran great and we spent some time cruising around after breakfast.
