It does seem like there is a bind somewhere.
3 and 4 move well. 1 and 2 is where there is an issue.
I had to remove the driveshaft. I`ll try and look at removing the
side plate. thanks!

More than likely your shift fork is hung. Removing the side cover should allow you to slide it back into position. Good luck

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I have to work at the barn with no heat.
Highs in the 30`s. Might wait till mid next week. Its tough out there.

I got out there and moved all levers to neutral. It seemed.
But its still in gear with output shaft spinning.
Could anything else, clutch plate or anything other than the trans that
would keep it in gear?

You probably have a broken shift fork in the trans.

Are you holding onto both the input and output shafts while spinning the input? Could just be internal friction turning the output even though it's in neutral. Mike B

Guitplayer That Hurst outfit you show is a rip-off,even if you could get that pile installed it will still be rubbery Hurst linkage ! Find a clean Hurst mechanism at a swap meet,mount it behind your factory levers,make a stick mount similar to the 55 chevy under the seat type till you can operate your shifter. Then in your drill press,or your neighbors,or machine shop,drill into 1/2 inch cold rolled steel rod,tap for 3/8-24 install heim joint with lock nut. Bend to fit your m-22 only takes 3,put your Hurst neutral "L" pin in (probably have to use a drill bit) adjust to perfect neutral. Naxt you'll be busy showing all your pals what a real shifter feels like. Adjust lever length for the throw you like best and so you don't hit seat or dash,bolt on any stick you want cover with a boot ! Have been shifting that way for over 50 years,smooth ,quiet,tuff, oil your shifter plates so they don't interfere with each other. Don't think I've adjusted since I put those on 52 years ago. on your mechanism find one with bolt on stick not that rubbery stick mount like a GTO ... no slack you move it shifts !!!
