I entered this as a search and got nothing.

"what type of bed wood was used for a 1959 chevrolet apache by GM"

Actually what was used for all Task Force? I know it was all painted or treated with something that was black. Maybe some cameo's had it painted body colors?

Are there any old factory workers that would know this?

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

Oak was used up to I believe 1940 and then switched over to Pine.

GM used southern yellow pine (not PT) and finished it with a mixture of linseed oil and lamp black. However, I do not know the process and yes, some were painted the body color.
