Got a 40 Plymouth 2 dr that will maybe bring 15k finished and owner throws money at it like a drunkin sailor. Wouldn't listen and spent 20k on a chassis that doesn't even come close to fitting the body. No mount brackets or cage nuts in frame for ANY body. With wheels centered in fender openings it will need a 5" recessed firewall, steering column moved, pedals. linkage, all custom made. An Alston, Morrisson, or Detroit speed would also use up 20k but it would fit. Kind of like Steele rubber, pricey but fits. I guess it keeps the lights on.
It is a trap, Bob Villa called it, While you are here syndrome. I have way more money in my 54 than I will get out of it but if you amortize it over the 39 years that I have had it and the fun and fun people that I have met because of it, it is worth it. It least that is what I keep telling myself. And yes I am still looking for a 35 Plymouth.
