My dad had a homebuilt trailer. It was a square box and not the prettiest. It was made by a cabinet maker and it was well done. He then graduated to a Shasta and then onto a Golden Falcon but always wanted an Airstream. Never had one. He dreamed of going on those Wally Byam trips. The towing vehicle of choice then was an International Travelall.
I might be wrong but I think Wally Byam was either the owner or some upper management person at Airstream.

My father Has an International Travelall to pull his 36-foot trailer. We went to Florida from Indiana. He bought used but it drove like a trick but without trouble. It rattled and clanged but got all 6 of us there and back. there and back.

You're not wrong. Wally was the founder of Airstream

I have a dream of grafting an AD cabover cab to an airstream trailer. I am afraid that it would cause traffic pileups from look-seers

Carl -- Keep after it! At Grigg's a few years ago (at the infamous Diesel Confab when it was so hot, we were in such a hurry to get to the river for a swim we neglected to take the cooler full of beer ...), there was a guy there (retired OTR trucker who grafted an Airstream to his 379 Peterbilt. It was *tres Cool* as the French say. At least, I think it was an airstream .... Well, it's my story and I'll tell it the way I want to, dangit.
