My friend Seab is coming with me.( My somewhat normal friend, not Sam, the one with the peace pipe and scragly beard).
Tom, I'm bringing your grill so you can get that thing home to install on your truck !!

So, you got me thinking about my inner MacGyver. What year Chevrolet grill would make the best one for grilling hot dogs?

Carl -- Probably something early '30's or older. After that, the grills get too curved (like the '38 - '40 grills or even the '41 to '47 1st grills) and the dogs would just roll off into the coals. You could invert them, I suppose, but then the dogs would just roll down to the bottom and wouldn't cook thoroughly. The Advance Design and newer trucks have grills that are too open -- wouldn't hold anything very well other than, say, a rack of ribs or a whole bologna.
If someone shows up at Winchester with an early '30's truck, lets remove the grill and try it to see if my hypothesis is correct. I'm sure the owner wouldn't mind. You remove the grill, I get the dogs from Billy.

Speaking of hot dogs, I plan on attending with the same fare I bring every year, burgers and dogs for anyone who wants to eat them. Not sure exactly when I will arrive at this point, I have a couple of things up in the air that I need to sort out but doubt it will be later than mid-day Thursday. Oh yea, major issue with the Stovebolt traveling cooking conveyance. It hasn't been used since last Winchester and I got it out over the weekend and the burner just fell apart. Found a replacement online and had to pay expedited shipping so hopefully I can get it back together in time. As of right now, it looks like I will be hauling a whole lot less junk to Virginia this year.........

We will also need to bring in someone else to remove the grill since I won't be able to make it. I am going to Southern Illinois to the in-laws to catch a groundhog living under the barn and to get a Model T started.
