Sorry I have been dragging my knuckles getting things planned for the "Heartland KC Reunion".
We need input on the color of the shirts and the design. Also suggestions on where to have them made up.
Vicki and I think, Mongo's Garage should also be on the shirt. Mongo and his family were great hosts last year and have agreed to host us again this year.

Per Admin request, the title "Stovebolt Reunion" is being retired and renamed "The Heartland Stovebolt Reunion".
John and Peggy want to make events more localized.

So please offer up any suggestions and I'll start contacting some venders for prices.
Thanks
Don & Vicki

Thanks Craig, I looked it up and it’s Shirt Tails. inc off of hwy 17 in Brunswick.
I’ll contact them this week. Will it help if I mention your name?

Mongo is also checking into a place near him and said he may work up a design. I’ll call him this afternoon and see what he thinks.

the title "Stovebolt Reunion" is being retired and renamed "The Heartland Stovebolt Reunion"

The annual Stovebolt Reunion in Kansas City will wrap up with this year. We may realize other major gatherings in different parts of the country, depending on a lot of factors. We think the Annual Reunion had a GREAT run and something similar may *happen* again, just like it happened in the beginning.

The same thing has happened with Homecoming. It was retired LAST year and this year the local even was WAM (Weekend at Mikes'). It was great. The ODDS plans more get togethers already.

Bolters are coming together in their local areas and that seems to be how all this started. We are encouraging more of that; getting to know the people in your own neck of the woods. Hence, we are beefing up / supporting the Side Lot section as much as we can; encouraging and giving them little guidance if needed. The Southern Bolters are a great example.

If you all decide to call the get together in the Heartland the "Heartland Stovebolt Reunion," that was Don's call. I thought it may be a little confusing with the Kansas City Reunion. Maybe that's just me.

We haven't insisted on local groups using GABFest anymore since that was an original term to get people use to the idea of coming together, meeting the Bolters in person who they had "met" on line in Stovebolt. (Gathering of Bolters)

There's a great crew in the Heartland. I think it break forth in new growth! yahoo

Tell you what Peggy, we'll make the name a topic for discussion at Mongo's during the meeting.
But for a lot of us that have been attending for years, it is a Reunion.

Now, back to the T-shirts.

Ron,

Especially now with the fuel prices and the economy in general. It was hard enough with the Covid craziness. Closer is good; meeting up with anybody these days is good! wave

Don,

Smart idea to see what the Heartland locals want to do. Wonder if HandyAndy will be coming? Maybe he'll have some additional input/ideas. headscratch

Thanks Craig I'll contact them this week. I'll also contact a place near Mongo's garage and see what they can do.
We need input on the color of the shirts. If I have to decide, they will be hot pink, for breast cancer awareness.

I am up for helping with the design. I have a commercial license for a decent selection of old trucks. If there is a particular year/style people were interested in I could try and mock one up.

This is an example of one I modified last year.

That is a piece of lawn art for my wife. We don't talk about that around here...

It is a 1955 Dodge C1B. I picked it up for a song a couple years back but didn't want to start working on it until the bonded title expired and it became clean. Then I found my dream Chevy before that happened and it became semi-permanent art.

My wife decorates it for the holidays and looks at it out the kitchen window.

Maybe she'd like it better if it's FUNCTIONAL lawn ornament.

See Category #2

2. Flora-Trucka

The Flora-Trucka category is the ever popular and, pardon the pun, ever-green, collection of derelicts with nature’s beauty growing in, on or through them. A sub-genre is the well-known “A Tree Grows Through It” category of de rigueur trees-through-the-engine-compartment kitsch. Delightful, if somewhat cliché at this point.

Peggy, John is good at stealing threads, did you learn from him or did he learn from you?

Back on topic, Jason, we may need your help and thank you for offering. I’ll be in contact with Mongo and see what he comes up with.
No input on the color of the shirt? Then it may be pink? I like light colored shirts for the summer time!

I'm cool with pink if my opinion as a rocky mountain bolter means anything.

X2 for what Craig says (think I would fall into "looks scary" category in pink lol).

Don,

Do you recall if any previous T-shirt colors where green?

Thinking a dark green similar to AD period paint color might work. Would provide a good background for a contrasting design color (creme?) to highlight the design.

Whatever color is decided, please put my dibs in for an XLG as I plan to try and attend this year if at all possble.

Thanks, Dan

I would suggest a “Safety “ color, ie; neon green, neon yellow, safety blue, neon orange, etc. that way everyone will know you are a group wherever you go.

Just my random ideas. Family health concerns will again keep me from attending.

I don’t think we have done a neon green yet. I’d be happy with the light color.
On a side note, I still have to contact the printers, so color may be an issue like last year?

1, We already did a pink shirt, i'm not sure what happened to the ones I bought, I think I gave them away.

we should do one with grease and oil spots already engrained into the fabric.

Another quality post.

Called two printers just now, one in the KC area, said we had to have to order in next week and couldn't do all we want done. So they are out.
Called the one that Tut's used for the Jamboree and they sounded like they could get them done and to us by Sept. 16th.
Looking at a light green shirt such as neon or Forest Green which was a Stovebolt color back in the fifties.
Then I spoke with Mongo and he is going to try and come up with a design and a place to get them printed up in time.
We don't know what the price will be yet, but I hope to keep it at 15 bucks a shirt and 17 Bucks for XXL and XXXL shirts.

Rusty, printed oil spots? That just ain't right! Wear it and make your own.

More info and threads soon.
