In addition to my 54 3100 I recently purchased a 1947 Dodge 1/2 ton. The engine had not been started for 20 years. After a lot of prep it started up yesterday. It sounded amazingly smooth. I think it was only hitting on 4 cylinders but it sound wonderful to hear it running. I felt like a grade school kid on Christmas morning. I still have a lot of work. I need to get the valves unstuck. Pouring in some WD40 to soak. Distributor shaft bushing is wore out, vacuum advance is frozen and carburetor needs rebuilt but I can't stop smiling knowing it will run. To the work bench for rebuild of the carburetor and distributor and then I can fine tune the engine. Fingers crossed the valves free themselves and I won't have to pull the head.

The first classic truck I tried to buy was a 1954 Didge 1/2 ton in excellent shape. It did have a ding on the left front fender. BUT the man that had owned it had just died and his widow thought it was worth its weight in gold. This was somewhere around 1981-1983. I bought my 1954 in the summer of 1983. I am glad I passed on the Dodge. ohwell
