Let me look when I get back home. There is a slim chance I have some in an old tool box and if so you can have it. It will be nicely aged for you. Or...come to think of it I have about 3 pounds of rosin and I probably could figure out how to make some. Heck, maybe I could sell the stuff if everyone else has given up on it.
In high school some guys just used a common candle...the ones sold at the dime store that were about 3/4" diameter and white. They'd keep them under the seat or in the glove box if their car/truck still had one. One guy swore his sister's hair spray worked. I should add I considered this guy to be borderline nuts occasionally, but he did win a state science fair with a centrifuge he modified to hasten the saturation of microscopic specimens.

You better keep your old school belt dressing. You might need it someday.
I’m sure the spray stuff works fine. I was just eager to learn (relearn?) about a method that is apparently lost to the 21st century. I find than many old-timey solutions are the best ones.
I am going to call a couple crusty implant dealerships just for the heck of it. Hopefully I remember to post results. Even if I’m the only one interested.

Ye Olde parts guy at Ye Olde tractor dealer was very familiar with the stuff. But says they haven’t carried it in years. He seems to think Ye Olde parts store in town still has it.
I think he’s probably mistaken. But I will call or visit said parts store tomorrow.

I was hoping to hear some more old farmer's fixes for this problem as they can be quit entertaining.

JW51 I posted ealier it disappeared, any way are you sure you don't have a fractional horse power belt it would be the wrong angle for automotive pullys. In my day they called em sheaves (pullys) If the belt puckers on the flat back side kinda tells you it's not right.

Had a guy tell me that sprinkling dry Comet cleaner on a running belt is the best belt dressing.

Hey, I know that guy. Same bloke that told me if I sprinkled salt on a bird's tail it couldn't fly.

Hey, I know that guy. Same bloke that told me if I sprinkled salt on a bird's tail it couldn't fly. And if you sprinkle Comet on a bird’s tail it flies twice as fast.

I have held a bar of soap to a squealing belt and it quieted down. Lasted a good while too. There’s a little video on the internet of a guy using stick deodorant to quiet a belt.
