Mr. Stovebolt editor and chief in command!
Yes, that’s correct, you did see plastic coated wires, but I’m sure your comment was in jest! I’m positive that a man with your wealth of Stovebolt knowledge, already knew that the “53” has plastic wire insulation from the factory! This truck never had cloth wiring, so yes, another original item! Hose clamps, not so much!
Tim,
You will find no wire ties in the engine compartment. But, there are some tidying up wires behind the instrument panel. Maybe even some bailing wire holding up some exhaust pipes. It was a farm truck after all!
I rest my case!

And just for the record, as you can see (if you look close enough...) on my vacuum line, there is a plastic zip tie. I have no clue what I put it there for. I should probably remove it. BUT ... I *do* still have my factory original (thank you very much) hose clamps. So there.

And yes, my engine *IS* a factory correct color.

Here is a link to a completely original 3800........except for the 453T, the Spicer 5 Speed and the Spicer 3 Speed Auxiliary:

I *think* one of the sticks are from an abandoned SM420

Turn up the volume.........

(Some of you may have seen this already.......)

Pretty sure that’s an untouched, unrestored, original, preserved piece of Stovebolt History!
Always nice to see a survivor of days gone by!

Wow. I wonder how long it took him to learn how to shift that combo.... Any idea what he's flicking on the dash? An electric Overdrive?

That’s a lot of work just to get to 45mph!

Jim - thats a good question - I have to ask him what that gets up to. It has a modern rear and front axle, and I believe disc brakes all around.
