Which way is this turnbuckle adjuster supposed to be facing?
Concave side up? Or concave side down?
This one was facing down when I started but who knows what's been done to the truck in the last 70 years?

I thought I had a picture of mine before I removed it, but don't. I recall that mine was facing down. Even thought I have Bendix brakes, I don't think that matters.

They'll probably work regardless of orientation of the turnbuckle thing but if it didn't matter, I suspect they'd have built the adjuster with straight legs instead of curved ones.

Concave goes up The point is to clear the rod that is pulling on it. With concave up when it’s reaching limit travel you get a tiny bit more out of it before it crashes into the big rod You see this curve detail on locations similar to this action in many places. -s

Huck was the company that designed and supplied them to GM. In later years (51 and up I think) GM changed to Bendix designed brakes.
