Are you quite certain if is mid-50's?? From the altered frame in 2nd pic it looks like an early 60's GMC. Sheet metal would be the same as 50's TF 3100's

Definitely late 55 and later. Looks to be pretty solid. Believe the bed, less fenders, would work on a 54 or 55 1st 3100.

I was told it was mid 50s when I bought it at an auction about 4 years ago. I figured the pictures would let somebody decide if it would work for them. The bed is approx. 50"X100". I used it to haul junk and rocks and branches to the landfill. I haven't needed it since retiring from Bullfrog farming last Oct.

55 to 62 is the script used on the gmc tailgate

The proof is in the frame and suspension. 55.2 thru 59 had leaf springs and 60-62 had coil springs & frame different from 55-59

Thanks Delky Dave, the GMC trailer has coil springs.
The wood bed is very usable and solid. Only "needs" new wood if being restored.

frog farmer-I have been around a couple of those early 60's beds made into trailers in past. Frame forward of bed is the give away. BTW -- both of those trailers had the limited slip differential !
