I've had a 1938 216 engine in my barn for over 30 years. All that is left is the short block assembly and the head. I'm considering scraping it. I'll never use it. The 216 in my 39 runs great. If it goes bad, I'd probably replace it with a 235. What are you folks thoughts?

Do you ever head south? I'm turning 216's into 240-something cubic inch full pressure engines. I'd be glad to give it a home- - - - -or maybe meet you partway. Anywhere but Illinois- - - -they don't let people defend themselves there! Jerry

I would find a home. I bought 3 235s and stripped off what I needed then I got tired of working around them and I scrapped them, big regrets because someone could have used them.

I just defend myself discretely, and will require a warrant to search.

My daughter and I are driving my 1939 Chevrolet 3/4 Ton Stake Truck (JD) to the VCCA meet in Bowling Green, Kentucky the first week of August. That's going to be a 2 day trip down and 2 days back.

Are there any steep hills crossing the Ohio River at Louisville on 69? I'm not thrilled going down I-75 because of the grade coming out of Cincinnati to Covington, Kentucky. If I go the I-69 route, I may just stop by for a short visit with ya.

Southern Indiana gets a little hilly but no real steep ones.

Bowling Green is definitely in my travel radius. If you have a way to transport that old warrior, I'll be glad to meet you there and give it a new home. Jerry
