I am disappointed with you guys. You didn't take the bait when I typed, "heard" of cats. I already had a comeback. "What, you never heard of cats?" Besides that, everyone knows that you can't herd cats.

A herd of cats is a clowder or a glaring.

Well, FWIW ... I like the usual Meatloaf tunes ... Not sure I would have gone to see him in concert but the ones that made it to air play I generally liked.
But then again, I have a generally more eclectic musical taste than a lot of you (Mozart to Neil Diamond to Gilbert & Sullivan to ALL Hair Bands to REM to bagpipe bands to Celtic Punk...) Good music defies genre labeling. Some of Meatloaf's repertoire was actually "good."
Speaking of concerts ... I've only seen a few "acts" in concert... I've been to see Neil Diamond twice (when he could still sing ...) -- loved it both times. I've seen Alabama -- they were awesome. Saw Hank Williams Jr ... he was awful in concert and didn't even last 30 minutes. And I saw Huey Lewis ... he was a very good entertainer.
Recently, I went to my second Jimmy Buffet concert (at my alma mater, the U.S. Naval Academy). He is the BEST. Of course, in Alumni Hall, he brought the house down with "We are the People" ("I was supposed to have been a Jesuit priest ... or a Naval Academy Grad ...") Jimmy Buffet just keeps getting better.

Growing up in my Mom's house you would never know what she would be playing on the HiFi. Her tastes ranged from Johnny Mathis to the Momma's and Papa's, The Rolling Stones to Jim Neighbors, Patsy Cline to Heart. It may things very interesting. Dad on the other hand liked both kinds of music "Country" and "Western". It's sad that we have lost so many people to this pandemic.

I had never heard of him till his death. I've lived a sheltered life.

Never watched any of his live music videos until these past few days. I think he would have been a good act to see. Especially in his younger days.

My first exposure to the man was in my drunken teens, hopping in to a bed of a pickup headed to Hollywood, to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show multiple times. Completed with rice, squirt guns and TP. Even so, I wasn't much of a fan of his.

Awkward to say the least. They did the right thing by announcing their unintentional bad timing.
