Was looking over a 64 c60 grain truck for parts today, will be going back. Thinking it over after I left, there was a fire extinguisher mount on passenger side kick panel. It appeared to be the factory color for the interior. Did these trucks come with one from the factory? I am looking for a better place to mount one, this would be neat.
Thanks for your help

blu1964 Would guess that fire extinguisher was put in later and painted to match, don't think GM would go to that trouble.

I drove the 1964 Chevrolet C60 tank truck for our Conoco Bulk Plant. We had the Chevrolet dealership as well and ordered it new when I was working down there. It did not come with a fire extinguisher from the factory. Those items you added according to taste and what the law required at the time. Just like the triangles or reflectors and other equipment. You also mounted this equipment where you wanted it.

blu1964,

Check to see if that truck you are looking at has 22.5” wheels.

Passenger Side Kick Panel, alongside and near the Door is where I would mount mine.
