The 235 I’m working on had sat for many decades. Condensation did considerable damage necessitating a complete overhaul. My distributor gear had some rust on it and I’d like to replace it. Does anybody know where I can find a new gear? The distributor is in great condition otherwise. I’ve looked at all the online places I know of, but no one sells or lists the gear.

What year is the engine? There has ben a ton of discussion about steel VS cast iron distributor gears, but unless you're running a steel alloy cam from a 216 or early spray oiler 235, the same gear that fits a 250 or 292 distributor will work. Those distributors will be simpler to find in a salvage yard or on Ebay than an early stovebolt unit in case you have to scavenge up a used one. Summit and JEGS sell a bronze gear for a 250 that will also work. Jerry
