As far as I know, you can't retrieve deleted codes from GM's, at least from I have seen using aftermarket scanners. At work, we delete all the time, when they come in a short amount of time, we work on them. Since all of ours are natural gas powered 6.0l's we get a lot of false codes.

Nope Don I did not. I debated but I felt either way it might be deleted. At least I did not try and hide it. Thanks, Jon H, After I posted that was my thought. If it comes back on then have it read again. The car is one I bought for a friend 4 years ago and I now have one also, the same year. What she told me was their 2 codes one was the gas cap and the other she said it said crankshaft timing cover. Whatever that meant. Don the sad thing is when you do take a nap then you can't remember it.

duckduckgo the error code then the type of vehicle it is and the results should show what the fix is if you look through what others have done to repair.

If you have access to a tech-2, you can pull "historic codes" which are ones that have cleared automatically.
If you clear the codes using a scan tool, they are generally gone until they get set again.
58 Apache, long bed fleetside, V8 w/SM420 Drivable but the rear axle needs work.
