David, sounds like you need to get to work! wink
It is pretty amazing the number of views. thumbs_up

Today I opened up my transmission for inspection and cleaning. Used my engine stand to keep from mucking around on the shop floor. Actually worked well.

Looks to be in pretty good shape. It'll get new gaskets and seals and a paint job. The serial number ID's it as a '52 tranny, so it was likely changed out when the engine was swapped in '54.

I laid out the new patch panels I got for Christmas on the floor next to my '51 cab and planned my attack.

Got my tranny prettied up today. The color is supposed to be "cast iron". A little too bright, but it'll do.
Next is getting the 2-3 shift fork repaired. Going to try welding the worn spot and have a friend machine it back to the right dimension.

Sure does look pretty! I had the same issue with my shift fork. I was able to buy a NOS from eBay.

I just got it welded and didn't screw it up doing that. Mine wasn't quite as worn as yours.
There's some NOS ones on eBay now, in case I mess it up trying to resurface it.

I got one of my headlight bezels almost stripped. Sadly I discovered it is slightly too large to fit in my powdercoating overn.

Drivable but the rear axle needs work.
