I’m installing the interior door glass window felt that was originally stapled to the door glass moulding. The kit came with staples but I don’t really see how they get reinstalled. I suppose I could drill tiny holes in the felt, but getting them lined up and crimped on the back side seems near impossible.
The trim pieces come with some kind of sealant on the back so I thought maybe you just pealed off the protective tape and applied. I used painters tape to hold it in place and allowed it to dry overnight. I even heated it up so it softened the adhesive. It seems to have worked on one side, but the other is falling off.
I’m looking for ideas/techniques on how to properly install these felts.

If I remember right I used the staples and the original staple holes on the trim ,can’t remember if I drilled them out later to make it easier to fit.The seal kit for the fender comes with rubber and staples also for the rubber that goes around the little pieces that go between the fender and firewall.
I remember one of the old timers here on Stovebolt using small screws in place of the staples. Or, you might try using 3M Trim Adhesive. That stuff, once it's cured, should provide plenty of holding power.
I have used common contact adhesive (in black). You'll need to bend the piece you're installing as per original, but with the contact adhesive mine stayed in place over 40 years.
I have glued them on with success and also used the small scews. (#4's I think) Once in a while I visit a friend of mine at the local "good" body shop I ask what they use and what is "new". There is all kinds of "good stuff" out there that will work. Some just a tat bit messy than others.

To wrap this thread up, I did finally get the felt wipers installed. I couldn’t find #4 self tapping screws without having to order a box of fifty. The 8 dollars for a box of 50 wasn’t the issue. Combine that with 13 dollars for shipping, I couldn’t see spending $22 (don’t forget the tax) for the box when I only needed 10. I was able to find #4-1/2” flatheads so I drilled the holes then inserted and tightened the screws. Not exactly what I wanted but it got the job done.
That all who gave me some suggestions.
