We are still asking: What did you get done on your Bolt today ????
The question, initially posted May 23, 2005, was:
"Whatcha do on your Bolt this weekend?"

Going to begin hunting for some wheels. I am either going to go with stockers with hub caps, a little newer steel wheel with beauty rings, or some older classic Aluminum slots.
Each would look good. Never having a GM truck before I don't know all the backspacing pit falls. What numbers am I looking for? And are all 6 hole wheels up to metric conversion the same spacing and pattern?

What year truck? The 1960-66 trucks with 6 lugs have 5.5” lug spacing which matches Toyota and Nissan most of the time. A lot of modern wheels don’t have the correct size center bore for the hub and backspacing is frequently an issue.
Vintiques makes some nice steel wheels and they are supposed to fit well with disc brakes. I like them but I’m also a bit crazy about aluminum slots. I own several sets because people contact me. They know I like them. So the slots find me, not the other way around.
You can go as wide as 8.5” in the rear if you have at least 3.75” of backspacing. I have wider rear tires on the stepside but the rear wheels are the same as the fleetside. I swapped rear tires/wheels between the trucks once and the wider tires from the stepside had only 1/2” to spare on each side when on the fleetside. Whew!
Yep. You just confirmed what I new as far as the perfect look for my 66. Slots are the way to go.
Want to sell a set of slots for my 66 6 hole"

I may seem selfish, but now is not a good time. I first need to swap out a set. Shipping would be very expensive. I actually plan to sell 2 sets (I have 4 sets plus a pair of 10” wide and a spare = 19 total).
