If the rule is no politics, shouldn't that apply to EVERYONE? John is entitled to his political opinions, but shouldn't air them on "his" website unless he changes the rules to allow everyone to do the same. And I'm sure he doesn't want to open that floodgate, which would be much to the detriment of the site. Just saying. not me

If a Stoveolt.com member does not have good virus-blocker, Websearch could infect your system (and replace your "search engine").

Actually no. As it is his site, he can do, say, and/or require anything that he wants.

Only if he wants it to turn into another HAMB.

I didn't say he couldn't, but shouldn't.

Red dot, center of chest ...
I've been asked to respond to tclederman's comment about websearch. Technically, it is not a virus. It's a browser hijack program. It replaces your search engine with itself, which benefits the owners by increasing their clicks and generating revenue for them without first gaining your permission. TC is correct that you need a good antivirus program to keep such programs at bay. Avast [avast.com] is one that's free (I use it) but there are others. If you suddenly find all your searches going to websearch instead of your usual search engine (you ARE using DuckDuckGo, right???), you can fix the problem by going here: Websearch cleaner [pcrisk.com]

Stovebolt is not "infected" with websearch. John banned the word G00gle by changing it to websearch, which is why, when you posted a link to G00gle, it redirected to websearch and produced an error page. I changed it to duckduckgo, which at least takes you to their search engine.

While I'm very grateful for this website and it's members, I too believe that politics should not be discussed on the site lest it degenerate into partisan battles. I've seen this happen in car clubs and it's not pretty. Let's just enjoy our hobby!
