Will a spare tire fit with the fender cut out on a short bed? All fender options I see for the spare are only for long bed, but I see pictures that look like short beds with the spare hanging just fine with room to spare (no pun intended) with the cab.
Seeing that I have decided to buy new rear fenders I want the dorkiness of the spare outside, then I can relocate the fuel tank when time permits or add an additional one.

Hey that is one of the pics I saw a couple months back. Fender hangs the same?
Is the only difference in the LB and SB step side the length of the step?

Length of the bed sides and the step will be longer. Fenders should be the same.

Is there a option to put the spare inside the bed?

I know there was an option used on the fleet side. I don't recall hearing about the stepside. It used a bracket mounted to the bedside. Pretty simple bracket. I suspect it would work on the stepside but not sure it was an option at the time. For your fenders, you are looking at least as far back as 58 and likely back to 55.2. all used the same bed fenders in case that helps the search.
