I'm repairing the window defroster in my chevy 3100 from 1951. The only problem is that I'm missing a part and can't find it anywhere. Can somebody tell me what the part is called or where i can find it? The part is circled red on the picture I attached.
29 Years of Daily Driving. With a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
Give it a while and hopefully someone here will have one or know where to get it. If not, do you know a good tin-wacker in your area? Could probably have one made for not too much. Then use the hammered paint discussed in other threads.
There is a used recirculating heater on E-Bay, its complete and has the piece you are looking for. Not "cheap" but is priced right based on my experience.

Thijs - I took the defroster outlet fitting off my old heater unit from my '51-3100. It does not look exactly like the one in your photo. Take a look at the attached photos and see if this is what you are looking for. It has no part number on it but the tag on the heater unit says: " Mfg. by Harrison; Lockport, NY; H-02-47". Hope this helps!

His pic showed a recirculating heater. The one you posted, Charlie, won't fit on a recirculating heater. It needs a round inlet. Picture is from my recirculating housing.

I can do that, but it might take me a day or two. I need to dig my way thru the snow to my trailer where that stuff is stored.

Thijs, Thanks for the nudge to go out and dig the trailer out. I needed to put a few items in there as well. Here are some additional pictures and measurements for you. The smaller of the two outlets is 44mm diameter (1-23/32 inches for us American guys ) The larger outlet is 49mm diameter (1-15/16 inches) Both are 24mm (1 inch) long They're arranged in a true wye (45 degrees off the main inlet) The wye is rotated approximately 30 degrees off vertical with the larger outlet away from the firewall and at the top of the heater. The larger outlet also has a bead rolled in it that's about 24mm long and standing about 5mm above the diameter. The bead is centered on the 24mm length of the outlet. That would help hole the hose in place.

Thank you very much Hansen! These measurements are a huge help. I'm going to try and recreate it as good as possible. With these measurements it wil be a lot easier!

Green51 Chevy That is made with 2 sizes of defroster hose spigot,I think it comes spot welded to the housing. May be tuff to land in the netherlands,also hard to make.
if you must fabricate. you may consider existing abs or pvc plumbing t's or y's of a similar diameter for a jumping off point to connect to flex tubes. easy to cut and glue and drill for a diverter. Necessity is the mother of invention.
