I recently joined the forum because I am seriously considering purchasing a 1949 3600 to restore/modify.
If the purchase goes through I anticipate searching here for a lot of help and support from those that have gone before me in this type of project.

Welcome to Stovebolt and congrats on your purchase. We are here to help you on your journey so be sure to ask questions in the garage forums and we'll do the rest. Keep trucking brother and watch for Bolters from your area. They are quite a few around here.

Hello WICruiser,

Once you get yourself an old truck, you'll be glad you did.

Currently planning to pick up the truck mid-December and then start sorting out what my game plan will be.

My current thought is to retain the 3/4 ton suspension and 8 bolt wheel hubs but I do think I would like to upgrade the front brakes to disk. I have seen a kit from TSM Manufacturing that looks like it would fit the bill but curious if anyone has experience with their product and/or other options. I suspect that the question really belongs in a more technical forum but until I have the truck in hand I will probably defer on asking the more technical questions.
