I have to replace some of the boards in the bed of my 54 3100. I have them painted black. Is there anything anyone has applied to the underside of the bed boards to provide better protection from the weather?

Used Bill Hirsch Miracle Paint on the underside of bed wood on a 1956 step side. Sanded and brushed it on. Went on great. Plan on using it on the underside wood of my 1957 suburban.

A good marine grade spar varnish. Thin first coats to soak it in. Then final two coats full.
