Hi, my name is Kevin. I live in Graham, NC. I have 1948 Chevrolet 3100 Thriftmaster, short bed . 4 speed on the floor. I got it from my Dad in 1983. He was cutting and delivering firewood in it. He realized that the firewood was dinging up the back of the cab and decided to sell it to me for $400.
I drove it some over the years. I went in the Air Force for 4 years, then went to college. I got married. We now have 3 grown daughter and two grandchildren. I always said after the girls were out of college I would get serious about restoring my truck. We’ll, it’s time. I look forward to reading and learning from you who have already started and those that have finished restoration projects.

Kevin

Welcome to the ‘bolt! Great story. There’s allot of southern ‘bolters in your area. You should check in with the “Southern Bolters” forum, as they may be some of your neighbors. Good Luck with your restoration and again welcome to the ‘bolt!

Hi Kevin, welcome to the Stovebolt Forums. It's good that you now have the opportunity to work on your '48-3100. I am currently working on a restomod of a '51-3100 as a retirement project. This site has a wealth of experience and information available to answer many of the questions you will have during your restoration. Take lots of photos during the disassembly process and bag and tag everything. You will benefit from this during reassembly. Enjoy your project! I will help in any way I can. Good luck!!
