We are still asking: What did you get done on your Bolt today ????
The question, initially posted May 23, 2005, was:
"Whatcha do on your Bolt this weekend?"
After 51,906,997 views, 7378 replies over 185 pages, this thread in General Truck Talk is a happening! And it's not just weekends anymore.
New to this truck and new to this forum. Had joined another one, but the responses are few and far between with problems and questions.
Found a 66 Stepside with 60K out in MT. Took it from pictures sent.
Some area are better than expected, some worse. I am into metal banging and rust repair right now. Hoping to have it at least run and move under its own power this summer.

Welcome to stovebolt.com, Ferris. There is lots to learn here and that in itself is our best resource. Looks like you already have a helper for this project. Good luck and remember it's supposed to be a fun hobby. Let us know how it goes and be sure to ask if you need help. Leo

Welcome to the ‘bolt! Nice start to your project. If you don’t find rust, it ‘s not old! Get your son involved and you’ll create memories that will last both your lifetime’s. Good luck!
Edit your profile to include the year, model, engine and other pertinent info on your truck, so we all know what vehicle you are talking about in your questions.
Thanks for the welcome. To answer all the questions:
1. Unfortunately no sons, just 2 daughters. The youngest was helpful on the teardown. Now that I am into metal work, not so much help. 2. The shop is godsend. finally got it a few years ago. Needs insulation and heat yet, but I am out of the wind and dry. 3. I am enjoying things for the most part. Couple frustrating things that ended up costing extra, but so far so good. This is therapy for me. I have left a 22 year career and now just work part time. Not sure what I want to do for the future, but in the mean time I am working on this truck to get my head right after 22 years of ****. 4. This is a 66 Step. 60K miles. 283, 4spd, 3.73 gear. Some of the typical rust will result in new front fenders and doors. Rockers cab corners and cab supports are in tough shape. The bed was in great shape rust wise, but has some dents as this truck was a farm truck its whole life. I am learning and doing the metalwork.
I post often with progress and generally have questions along the way.

One of my daughters helped a lot on my '37 and recalls the memories with great pride. Enjoy the time and we can help with questions, just ask in the garage forums.
