I went into a store where I shop a lot. Asked one simple question. What day does your stock truck come? The answer I don't know. That was it and not let me check, this person was not busy.

All the pay to stay home as stopped, at least on the federal level. There may be some states still doing it. Kansas is no longer providing unemployment for COVID relief but there are help wanted ads all over town that aren't being filled. I have no idea where people are getting their money if so many are not working.

The local Dollar General a year ago was open from 8 am until 10 pm. It slowly whittled down to 8 am until 6 pm. I could get a job there but it would not be fair because I can not be on my feet for a long time. They had a one-arm girl for a while and an older lady I mean about my age, she was slow but careful. I heard her say to another lady that she only works 2 days a week but they want her to work more. I have not seen her for a couple of weeks.

Same here, stores like Dollar General, Family Dollar and even Walmart are cutting back open hours. Self checkout has become the norm and customer service is non existent. I do way more online shopping than I should.

Same here, stores like Dollar General, Family Dollar and even Walmart are cutting back open hours. Self checkout has become the norm and customer service is non existent. I do way more online shopping than I should. For those stores, that sounds like pre-covid conditions to me.  We had a super target for a few years, giant place with what seemed like 80 check out lanes, which were hardly ever open... which is why I stopped going there. They closed it and turned it into a junk storage place. Home Depot is another place I dread going to... cuz if I do find something I need, it's aggravating trying to get them to take my money, which I find confusing.

I stopped in at the store just a bit ago and asked one of the regular and he said the reason they don't have the product it is a Pepsi product and they do not have enough drivers to keep regular deliveries. It is only Liptons Ice tea with peach. But I don't drink many carbonated drinks or alcoholic drinks.

I'm with you Jerry. They don't send me a W2 every year so why should I do their job. If there's a long line & few checkouts open I go to the customer service desk to check out. The only hang up there is the customer service check out doesn't have a scale so if I have produce that needs weighed I have to wait with every one else. One time the customer service worker wouldn't check me out so I left her a push cart full of food to restock and walked out. Never had a problem after that.
