I wired up a dome light with a switch on the passenger door. I added a switch on the dash to turn it on when the door is closed.

After owning my truck for several years, I’m finally getting around to getting the parking brake hooked up. Some of the brake parts were in a box of parts that the previous owner gave me, but not everything was there. I’ve started on the right side, hope to get to the left in a couple of days, and then get the new cables installed and connected.

I’m not sure why, but when I install the spreader bar, the shoes seem to be too far open even with the eccentric bolt set to where the lever is at a minimum. Still tinkering with it, but making progress.

I’ve been driving the truck as-is all these years, and am now just getting around to it and hope to have it done before the temperature plummets too far. I don’t have garage, and keep my truck in a shelter in my driveway. I thought the days of having to sit on the cold ground doing brake jobs were behind me, but I suppose this is what I get for procrastinating!

Today, I finished up insulating the cab, and installed the fuel tank, sending unit, and bottom petcock. I also finally got around to painting the center headliner support and rear retainer. Maybe tomorrow I'll tackle the headliner itself. I also painted the sheet metal for the fresh air heater. Looking forward to re assembling it now.

Got the gas gauge and the horn working today - it was an electrical trouble shooting journey. I am going to quit while I am ahead!

Filled up with non-ethanol gas and a can of sea foam, changed the oil and filter, and put away for the winter.

It took a year to find, but it was worth the wait. We got a new center bar because both ours and the new one were trash. Now we are working on the chin and the lower splash pan that were on the shroud we bought. Can't believe we found these pieces.

A few days ago I removed the heater core from the ‘62 C-10 and over the course of a few days managed to test it to find the leak. The leak appeared to be in the attached control valve. Being the thrifty person I am I could not justify the very high cost of repairing or replacing the valve. Today I ordered a standard heater core from Summit Racing and will put a control valve in the heater hose. Where there is a will there’s a way.

Finally got around to putting Remflex manifold gasket on my 1951. Had an annoying exhaust leak.

The job was a real pain. Gasket is so thick that the alignment rings can’t do their thing. I’m hoping I got it right but ran out of time to put carb on and test.
