Has anyone heard of Zelle. I'm trying to purchase a wing vent for my 50 coupe....i was contacted by a guy by pm who has only1 post on another forum from Ca. that a guy, I think in Kentucky, has one. The guy ask me what I'd pay. I said 25 bucks, he says 30 with shipping! Ok, I offered check or money order as I don't do pay-pal ever. Told the guy he could hold the part till check or money ordered cleared. Now he hasn't answer a couple specific questions about the wing vent and wants money through Zelle. I think its a scam...low bucks but a scam!...don't y'all.

Zelle is a legit money transferring APP. Whether the guy is legit is another matter entirely. Research Zelle and see if they have a safety valve to get your money back if he doesn’t send the item.

I have had good luck with PayPal over the years even just a few months ago.

We use PayPal here at HQ. Never had a problem with it. Yet...

We are, however, currently having a BIG issue with E-Bay who now wants our bank account information in order to give us *our* money.

Craig's List and cash -- only way to go.

I think to use Zella it has to be available through your bank. I use 5/3 and they support Zella. It is legitimate and it is possible it can be downloaded as a stand alone app. Search the GoogleStore or Apple, depending on your phone.

Clarification: does he want you to use "zelle" or "zella".

Because Zelle is a legitimate payment method. It is fairly common in scams to make a fake payment processor that sounds like the real one, get people to use it for small payment (like this) and scrape their ID and real information when you try to withdraw the money.

Sorry for the spelling error. I went back and checked and it is Zelle..... still no word. I'll use my old wing vent before I get scammed. (unless he wants to trust me and sent it hoping I'll return payment)!!! This can work both ways you know!

...and it was sort of strange that he would say "zelle works in most banks IN THE USA. Something stinks here!!

I checked with my credit union with whom I have been there for 25 plus years. They said they do not do Zelle...at least not yet!!

I've had good luck with PayPal when buying and accepting PP and personal checks when selling. I just wait for the bank to tell me the check has cleared and send the item. On rare occasion I deal with a seller who accepts personal checks but it's a rarity.
