Justice, FYI there is another option here and that's an adaptor plate for the 55 second series and later 235 which relocates the water pump to the exact position you are looking for. Check with Pre68Dave on this site for this adaptor. The 55 1st and 54s are getting difficult to find so consider this option. I'll attempt to attach a link here.

I just pick up a 1955 235 engine I was told was a runner when removed. Call me if you have a interest. Engine is 30 miles west of Milwaukee Wi Eagle Wi.1-262-392-2989
