My nephews Colorado with the same 5 cylinder engine has 650k miles but it has taken a lot of dollars to get it there. Cam phazers, exhaust manifold cracks, transmission and transfer case, power windows, AC, power steering, and wiring have all had issues. My 4 cylinder Ranger with 500k and manual trans has had ZERO problems. Battery replaced once, brakes once, 300k mile tune up and timing belt every 100k miles. Probably $500 spent on it since new.

I don't think I'd touch a 5-cylinder engine with a 10 ft pole. It just seems wrong.

The weirdest thing I saw as a kid was a 3-cyl 2-cycle front wheel drive car. I believe it was a DKW. At the time, weird in 3 different ways.

1 set of brakes in 500000 miles? Hmmmmmm
