I have a 1949 3800 with the long bed. When I got the truck it was completely missing an exhaust system, including all the hangers.
I got a reproduction exhaust system from Waldrons.
I found a NOS muffler bracket.
I have never installed an exhaust before - I have it roughly installed now but I don’t know what to use for all the brackets. I can’t find original ones and that’s ok - what after market brackets have people here used? Any suggestions?

Get some standard exhaust pipe clamps and some 1/8" x1" bar stock. Attach the clamp to the exhaust pipe in the vicinity of a hole in the frame and bend the bar stock to fit from the clamp to the hole, drill a hole to bolt the bar stock to the frame and weld the bar to the clamp.

Ok - that is perfect. Seems so simple but when you’ve never done it, it’s hard to know.

I used these Walkers on my C10. They are a great price, and the 6 I bought are very solid. I will be getting these for my 50 1/2 ton as well. You won’t be disappointed, but you do have to weld them onto the pipe.

Bolt on- no, welding required.
Quality- YES.
Easy install- that’s relative.

However, the rubber tore on my 1 ton and I had to replace the hangers. I haven’t got around to it, but I might use the walkers I mentioned above on my 1 ton in the future.
Get a quality hanger, whatever you do, and you’ll be good!
