I am looking for a No-Spin unit for my HO52. Anybody have one they are willing to part with? Just the No-Spin parts, not the entire 3rd member.

First, are you asking about a limited slip carrier or locker? Second this is the "Trucks Wanted" not "Parts Wanted" thread.

The No-Spin, from what I have read, is a fancy term for a Detroit Locker, at least in the year truck's I have shop manuals for. 1963, and the 1965 supplement. So it would be the detroit locker, no clutches to fail, and no special friction modifiers needed. And then, OOPS!!...lol...I posted this last night after a long day at work, thanks for the heads-up. Can I have a moderator move this thread to the Parts Wanted area, please? Thank you.

Used to see them in school buses from '50 ish. Only work with single speed axle.
If got one in the rear of my 2000 K2500. They drive the inside wheel on turns so with a heavy foot & lack of front tire traction you will go straight.

Yes sir, and the 3/4 ton trucks with the 17 spline HO52 axles. I am familiar with how they perform, and am also familiar with how they can keep you from getting stuck. We inadvertently ended up on an unfamiliar back road, while trying to find some ponds to throw a line in to maybe catch a couple bass for dinner. Had we drove another 1/2 mile to 1 mile further down the paved road, we would have been golden. Instead, the road we ended up on was very sandy, and if the rear had an open-diff we would have been calling a tow truck to drag us to firmer ground. But there was the No-Spin back there, and I just kept the engine at a steady rpm and the truck's momentum going, and we got out. There were a couple spots where the sand was deeper and softer and the rear tires chattered along, but the truck kept going until we hit the good road. This was with the 4.57 3rd member that is coming out. It pops, and I suspect it is very worn out. I can check it when I remove it in a couple weeks. I would like to install a No-Spin in the 4.11 carrier that I just discovered in my front yard. If someone has one they're willing to part with, I can use the best parts from both units, mine and the one I hopefully acquire.

It may be easier to find a complete 3rd member or axle, huh?

Yukon gear sells one for that 10 1/2 axle in you 1981 but nothing on the older axle. Good luck, hope you can find one.
