Summit VS. Jegs

I used to think, about 10 years ago, that both were at about the same level (which was really good). But recently, it has looked to me like Jegs is starting to slip.

I'm currently waiting for a tach to come from them, and first the order was delayed a week (and I am totally taking COVID into consideration, here), but then this morning, I got an update saying the part shipped yesterday (5/5). I was relieved. Almost immediately after I received that update, I got ANOTHER update, now saying the part was BACKORDERED until 5/12! I'm like, "uh, you already said it shipped out".

I'm trying to be patient with the scenario, but I'm already bummed because I bought the tach from Summit, first, and when I did, it was labeled as their "last one". That already threw a flag, and then when it arrived, the reset button had been broken during packing/storage/shipping. Thus, the return and a new order from Jegs instead.

Anyone else prefer one over the other?

Jegs must have seen my post- they are now saying my tach will be in this Monday. We'll see I guess!

My experience with Jegs is they have good customer service. I was ordering some parts one night after a few beverages in a dark colored bottle. When morning came, I realized I had ordered the wrong things. I called their customer service, they got all but one of the items stopped. I actually talked English to somebody that was extremely polite. All I ended up with was a package of metric fine thread nuts, which are still sitting on the work bench.
