My regulator unit casting is broken so it cannot be used as a core to order another from Jim Carter. I found a company at https://thisolecoupe.com/windshield-regulator-unit/ that manufactures new aluminum cast units (see pic) which is nice but they want $425.00 each. Does anyone have any other suggestions before I invest in this?

Seems like the going rate. If you are not in a hurry do a search on ebay with an email alert when one gets listed. Patience can pay off.

How broken is it? Is it possible it could be repaired?

You could also post in the “Truck Parts Wanted” for a working unit or core.

Thanks.

The casting is broken off on one side where the cogwheel shaft passes through. Don't think that can be fixed.

I just wired the windshield securely shut and mounted the crank handle back on so all would look normal.

I just posted over in the Truck Parts Wanted section. I will also try the Ebay notification trick.
