I just pulled apart an engine but can't find info on the crank. The heads and block were easy but the crank is difficult. Does anyone know of a source that could help me ID this thing? I've tried all the internet sources I think.

Chevy SB V8 crank #14088528. It was out of a newer motor (87-95 #14093638).

Thanks!!

Why are you trying to ID the crank if you know what engine it came out of? If you are trying to figure out if its a cast or forged crank, you can look at the parting line where it was formed.

One has a narrow parting line, and the other has a much wider parting line where the crank's mold came together. Hope somebody can remember which is which.

good luck

Yea, I'd like to know if it is forged or not. The engine was from a 70's truck (obviously swapped). I'll look for those lines and maybe swing it by the local machine shop just to be sure.
Thanks for the help!
