Moved my 10yo grandson’s 1984 C-10 longbed to behind the barn today. His dad Terry B is just too busy to work on it and it’s been in my driveway untouched for a year +. The plan is to LS it but keep the 4sp transmission. In all reality it will probably go automatic. Good to have my parking space back but it will be fun when they start working on it again.

Got the new jim carter parking brake cables installed and made my own bedwood kit and got it installed.Bed wood install I still need to adjust the cam bolt on the rear shoe to get the parking brake a little tighter but it is working ok. Its nice to finally have it for the first time since building the truck.

Got the 55.2 out of storage, put insurance on it and took it for a ride.

Well, I guess my activity with grandson’s ‘84 last week got the juices flowing in Terry B. He and Josh (Grandson) came by yesterday evening and borrowed my car hauler trailer. Loaded up Josh’s (he is 10yo) ‘84 and moved it over to his house so they could work on it in the evenings. The truck belonged to his great grandfather on his mom’s side of the family. They have a very long way to go but they have 5 1/2 years to get er done. Just happy to see them get started.

Been fighting a turn signal and a horn issue on the ‘62 C-10 for a couple of years (other stuff got in the way) now. Weather was nice this morning so I thought I would try to remedy the problem. Started with the horn and as is usually the case found a loose ground. Easy 10 minute fix.
Then moved on to the turn signals. Both rears worked and the R/F worked but the L/F wouldn’t light up. Got out the test light and probed the wiring under the hood. The signal wire to the L/F when probed flashed the test light. That left two possible areas of concern. Removed the socket from the housing and wiggled the bulb. Didn’t work so I removed the bulb and probed the socket contacts with the test light. The turn signal contact flashed the test light. Bulb....... both filaments were good so I jumped the bulb on the battery. No light, so bad bulb. Found a different bulb and installed it and the turn signal worked. Another 15 minute job completed.

I love it when a 15 minute job takes only 15 minutes!

Good troubleshooting didn’t hurt either. Good job! thumbs_up

Got the frame and axles back from the sandblaster yesterday and today got the frame off the trailer and on the rotisserie in preparation for painting. Spent the day welding some minor cracks and dressing up the welds.
Hopefully will get primer shot on it tomorrow or Saturday.
