When doing a hard pipe installation on anything that carries fluid or air pressure, I like to put a 360 degree "vibration loop" in each line to take stress off the flare or compression fittings. In my installation, I didn’t feel the loop was necessary as there are two bends in each line that go in different directions that would absorb any expansion/contraction and vibration and the fact that it is hard mounted to the engine. I guess we’ll see!

Thanks all for the tips.
I think I am going to try the Hardline approach using some 5/16 nicopp I have left laying around. What degree does the tubing need to be flared to? I have a line flaring tool that used when I installed the brake and fuel lines, will that work?

That will work fine. Just get the fittings to match. You’ll need (4) 1/8”male pipe to 5/16” female inverted flare fittings, (4) 5/16” flare nuts and I used a 1/8” NPT street elbow on the side of the filter, so the inlet tube went straight down.

53 fivewindow I once made a screw on filter bracket out of angle iron so you could change your filter from below. Use any screw -on filter with steel lines worked good. No flex lines to leak.
