is it NECESSARY to replace the shackle sleeves on the frame if the threads are good and they are fit tight? do not know if they have ever been replaced. I bought new shackles with the new springs. if the consensus is yes replace them, what is the method for removal? i was thinking thread the old pin in part way and use it like a punch and drive the old sleeve out?
As always, you time and advice is much appreciated

New springs + new shackles = new bushings! This way you know that everything is good. If they have never been replaced, they definitely have some wear.

iif the consensus is yes replace them, what is the method for removal? One of our fellow “Bolter’s”, has a website and use’s a 5/8” threaded rod for his bushing removal tool. Here’s a link that explains his whole process. [LINK] [ chev235guy.blogspot.com]
