Have some pinto beans soaking and cornbread batter mixed up but had a hankering for cornbread right away so being a little bit adventurous and a whole bunch lazy I poured some batter onto the waffle iron and presto, cornbread waffle. Really delicious and not crumbly like regular cornbread. I just use butter on my waffles or pancakes but syrup/honey would work for those with a sweet tooth. Try it! When I was cooking at my grandparents' restaurants back in the early 1960's, I made and served thousands of cornbread griddle cakes. We would pour a couple of dozen 4" circles of batter on a greased grill top, and by the time the cook top was full, it was time to start flipping the first ones. We served them with a pulled pork BBQ meal, with coleslaw or potato salad on the side. I also helped smoke the pork! Jerry

Sounds good Evan, if I only had a waffle griddle.
