My poor 55.2 had the dash chopped up, and they removed the metal around the radio opening and the heater control area. im looking for at least an inch around all sides of the heater control opening.

well most of the ashtray area is there, its the heater control area and radio section thats missing. that leads me to wonder if it had controls in it or not. lol. darn id hate to see a good dash get cut up though just to dave mine. I can get the radio section repop, but the dummys gutted the heater control section too, and thats the killer. let me look at my dash again, because now that i think about it, they drilled holes for toggles in the section above the radio section too.
hahaha i only had to look at my own pic to see it. part of me thinks the whole dash might be easier, but im sure shipping would kill me. let me know what you want for the whole thing, and im thinking greyhound would be the cheapest, just slow.lol
Shipping the entire dash would be very expensive and I don't have a Greyhound terminal near me.
I just remembered I have a junk cab with the radio hole butchered up, so I went out to see if the heater control was any good (see attached) I can cut it just to the left on the knob holes and an inch or two into the glovebox opening and then across the bull nose of the dash to give you some meat to work with.
The part is Free, but I want $25 for my time to cut it out plus shipping.
sounds good to me. i can get the patch panel for the radio, and ill be welding tons of sheet metal anyway...lol. let me know how to shoot ya payment. Im glad a good dash wouldnt have to be cut up just for that part. But i wonder why the dash you have has the part i need covered up. did they all come with heaters? i still have to find out where the vent cables go...but i have an assembly manual coming, so a lot of questions will be answered..
The first dash picture has a heater delete. That little plate can be removed when you install the heater control from a deluxe heater. Standard heaters had a knob/switch that came thru that plate.
the nice thing is this old stuff is nothing close to being as complicated as the new stuff. lol. So what are the pull cables under the dash in the first picture for? by chance the vents? and is that stock?

Are you installing a Heater in your truck? If so which one, the Deluxe Fresh Air Heater had a chrome control panel that fits in the opening next to the glove box and as triplet said the Standard Heater had a twist knob drilled into the Heater Delete plate you see in my first dash picture.
Do you need the Heater Delete Plate as well? I may have one of those as well...
