......I'll have a new lens in my right eye. The cataracts FINALLY got bad enough to fix. In MY opinion I passed that threshold several years ago but my eye doctor kept saying no. The specialist doing the surgery is going to do both eyes but the right one first since it's the worst. Having glasses ground for two bad eyes with only one after the surgery will require taking one lens out of my glasses but that's a minor issue. I am SO looking forward to this. Surgery is at 7:30 AM in Wichita so it's up early in the morning. Yee Haw!

Good luck with that Tiny. Don't sleep in! I had eye surgery several years ago, had tri-focal lenses implanted.

Insurance won't pay for that in the states. I've worn glasses so long I don't ever remember not wearing them so I'm going to go with the farsighted lens and wear glasses with seamless bifocals.

Be prepared for a big shock when you walk out of the surgery center. The colors will be so bright and vivid you will be amazed. Biggest nuisance for me was the eye drops for a couple of weeks. Seems like my second one was done 6 weeks later and again the colors shocked me. It was during the follow ups that the retinal cancer was found in my right eye. They couldn’t see it through the cataract. Good luck.

I don't think there's any monsters hiding in there. My type of cataract grows in "fingers" that gradually infiltrate the center of vision rather than blocking the whole cornea. They can still see the retina but they give me blurred and double vision. Bright lights are a total white out. Not fun driving at night.

They been telling me for a decade or so that I needed to get them removed but I can still see pretty normal 'cept for close up. The three Optivisors take care of that so far. I figure it's like anything else that's man made, that is, they're gonna wear out in fifteen or 20 years like the furnace or water heater and you'll have to replace them again. So.....with another 21 years to go, I'm just putting it off till it's a one time replacement. Besides, the longer I wait, the more they learn and the further advanced the technology get. Denny, it takes longer to fill out the admission form than it does to do both eyes. Actual surgery time is about 10 minutes. I’ve had mine about 12 years now.

I was unable to be outside without sunglasses with my surgery for several hours. Was not allowed to drive home from the clinic. I'm sure they told you what to expect.

Yep, the wife will be my chauffeur tomorrow. I'm hoping to be able to drive myself to my dental appointment and post op follow up Wednesday.

I can't stand eye drops let alone having eye surgery. Hope that day never comes.
