The embossed bed sides were original,I believe the bed sides that some vendors have are flat on the sides

Everything about that truck appears 1955. I think it's just a typo.

Is it me, or does the drivers side running board appear a little bent?
And are those captains bars above the starter?

I checked and found that embossed bed sides were on 54/55 1st trucks.

I reached out to Mecum about this truck listing and they sent back, "You are correct, it is a 1955. We had it accidentally in as a 1950, and the VIN does show its a 1955".

Mystery solved!

I agree it appears to be a 1955. For that much money, they could have included the horn.
