Even some pretty intelligent people have the occasional lapse of logic. My father drove and fixed all sorts of cars and trucks, beginning in the mid-1930's. One day he needed to haul something, and I loaned him the Dodge Dakota I was driving at the time. When he returned it, he mentioned that he was not able to adjust the outside mirrors- - - - -"Can't find the switches anywhere!" "Uhhhh- - - -Dad- - - - -it doesn't have power mirrors! Just push on 'em! Jerry These days a manual transmission is a pretty good anti-theft device.
Old enough to know better, too young to resist.

The foot stomp starter is another good one.

My tinnitus has the same frequency as a 6-71 jimmy turning 2400RPM. We had to have the windows down in the summertime. The Flowmaster on my 3800 will be replaced before my next trip come spring.

I have been looking at mufflers for my 59'. I want something that will let you hear the cam but not be so hollow or raspy that it becomes obnoxiously loud. Several companies have links on their sites that let you hear the mufflers in use. I 'm not sure how real to life the sound would be once it come through the speakers on my computer.
While at Turkey Rod Run I did get the chance to heard several different exhaust systems, many were just to loud for something you would drive fairly often. I know what HRL's take on headers is and how their not worth the aggravation on a street truck, but you must admit they do have a great sound. So with my headers and 2 1/2" pipes I'm thinking a Corvette style turbo muffler may be my best fit. My Dad had a set on his 70' GMC with 2 1/4" pipes, they exited in front of the rear wheels, the truck always had a nice tone to the exhaust.

I put one of these in my last LS Swap. I love it. Under 2000 rpm, it is nearly silent, but it sounds great when you get on it: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-22865

It is the same sizes as the factory y-pipe (2x 2.5" in, 1x 3" out) and is large enough that the low frequency from idle and low speed cruise is almost completely gone, but it still lets through enough high frequency waves to sound good at high throttle.
