Im using after market hinges ( Classic Parts ) on my 55 Cameo and although they are as low as possible on firewall the hood sits high when I close it but goes to perfect height if I push it down at the cowl . Has anyone else had this problem and how did you correct it ?

Is the new hinge well lubricated, might be tight from new assembly. Lube it well and exercise it.

If you still have the factory originals, Willie Wilson does a nice job in refurbishing the stock ones..
