Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I know, I'm a day early but I expect a lot of phone calls, messages and at least one or two Zoom get together's on Thanksgiving Day. Normally we have a big shindig with 35 or more family and friends but this year it's just Theresa, my sister Mary and myself. The kids in town are doing their own thing and my oldest son, daughter in-law and our first grandchild are stationed in Germany (Ramstein AFB). It's very different this year, to say the least, but we're going to make the best of it.

I hope you all stay safe and don't forget the ones that are home alone, a phone call or text could mean the world to them.

Time to go, I can smell the dumplings and sauerkraut cooking in the kitchen, have to see if a taste tester is needed.

We are also doing the small gathering this year.
Usually it’s like John’s, 30 to 35 people and almost half are under 14.
Wife is still going to cook a big meal though. Guess I’ll be gaining some weight?

I am thankful for all the knowledge I have gained here at this site over the years and collectively for many other things.

I will be throwing in a big serving of Compassion this year for many fellow humans hurting due to do many natural disasters that have prevailed this year over the planet.

Still..The best planet in the universe!

I am thankful for the help and good people here. I am also thankful that my constant questions and sometimes silly sense of humor hasn’t gotten me booted from this site too. Just the three of us here- No over the over the woods and through the river to Grandmas house we go. Bittersweet holiday for my 90 year old Mom though. Lost her husband in March. Alone today in her condo without family picking her up for a thanksgiving. And us kids can’t fly in from points around this country due to Covid. She did say Senior Meals on Wheels is delivering a fee meal to her because she is 90 now. I asked her if it was worth the wait to finally get a free dinner. She laughed. Happy Thanksgiving, friends. A wish for a very happy Thanksgiving to all my Stovebolt friends. Even with this years challenges we do have a lot to be thankful for. Been eating turkey leftovers since Monday. The kids go their own way on Thanksgiving day so it will be just Ms Kathy and me as usual. May take the “Bolt” out for a drive later.
